Reflections, Real Talk, and the Road Ahead

The Truth About Starting Over

Dear Reader,

What a week.

So much has been happening in the world, and I just want to acknowledge how heavy it’s been. From the storms to the state of the nation, it can all feel like too much. But we’re still here. We are resilient. That part hasn’t changed.

As we move into the next phase of the Soft Life, there’s one topic that keeps coming up again and again.

Show me the money.

With so much uncertainty and so many people shifting into entrepreneurship, this moment is asking us all to rethink how we live, how we earn, and how we lead. That’s why I want to remind you to use the tools I’ve shared with you. They’re here to help you pause, reflect, and get clear about where you are and where you want to go.

You are not starting over, and you are not behind.
You don’t need to reinvent yourself.

There are so many voices out there telling you what you should do. But the truth is, you don’t need a new identity or a trendy method. You need to follow your heart and build from there. The answers are within. You already know.

Part of my work is to help you get clear, but to get there, you have to release. You have to forgive the parts of life that didn’t go as planned. Let go of the weight that’s not yours to carry.

I remember when I was a bag lady. The one Erykah Badu talked about. Not just carrying physical things, but emotional weight I didn’t even realize I was holding. I took it all with me into relationships, into friendships, into opportunities. I carried fear, disappointment, frustration, and the need to prove myself. It became so normal that I didn’t know who I was without it.

It was exhausting. My mind never rested. I was constantly overthinking, trying to make sure I was doing everything right, trying to be everything for everyone. I was so busy managing what was in my head that I could not receive what was in front of me.

Erykah Badu was right. I was THAT bag lady.

I did not appreciate the miracles God put right in front of me. I got some storiessssss......

I wasn’t clear about what I brought to the table. I thought I had to be something more to be worthy.

Getting to the other side of that took time. It took commitment and consistency. It took letting go of people, beliefs, and ways of being that were no longer serving the woman I was becoming.

That process changed everything. And every lesson from that journey lives in what I create. Nothing I share is theory. It’s all lived. Every product, every program, every word is built from experience.

I turned my pain into power. And that is what birthed Black Women Amplified.

This road is not easy, but it is transformational. And even now, at our big age, we still need space to reflect, release, and reset.

Next week, I’ll tell you about Envision. It’s a powerful offer designed to help you reclaim your clarity and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose. But for now, I want you to enjoy your holiday weekend.

If you’re in an area impacted by the tornadoes, please know I’m holding you close in prayer. If you’re safe and have capacity, find a way to support others. This is a new era, and the power is with the people.

Have a beautiful Memorial Day. Can you believe summer is almost here?

Pack light, ladies!

With kindness,
Monica Wisdom
